Documentary
«The film by Tula Roy and Christoph Wirsing invites you to come to see Cesare Ferronato. We are the sculptor’s guests, of course, in his studio in Höngg where his figures are and become, and also in the Italian stages of his life. As his guests we are like naturally part of his family that is the centre of his life abode. And it makes you feel welcome and comfortable, also in the film.
That is because life and work stand in happy unison with Cesare Ferronato. As an artist as well as a contemporary he faces people and the world, is attentive and friendly, smart and cheerful. All of these facets you will live through in the documentary. And there will be moments of happiness to see the artist’s hand drawing a line across a blank sheet of paper, to see how it is developing before him under his very own hand; to see how the sculptor treats the stone attentively and carefully; and to listen to his voice when the artist in his eighties talks about his life and his works.»
